New hub launched that matches aged care providers with jobseekers
Non-profit aged care provider peak body Aged and Community Services Australia has launched a new website to connect and support job seekers and employers.
The hub is open to all aged care organisations at no cost and has more than 70 organisations and 145 applicants registered to date, a spokesperson for ACSA told Australian Ageing Agenda.
ACSA CEO Patricia Sparrow said job seekers and employers could use the hub to find each other.
“This means people who are looking for a role in aged care and aged care organisations can find each other at no cost and no fuss. And importantly it will support right fit people to work in a sector that means they are making a difference in people’s lives,” Ms Sparrow said.
She said the COVID-19 situation has led to many job losses or changes and many people may be considering new career options.
“The aged care workforce needs to triple by 2050 and we need even more workers right now to help the sector care for older Australian.”
After employers with positions to fill register on the hub, they can then search by role for people who are looking for employment in their region.
The hub also features online information sessions, training, career information and resources.
Planned elements for the hub include free suitability and psychometric testing to assess if candidates are the right fit for the role, the spokesperson said.
