Luke started at Altaira in February 2021 as an Allocations Administrator, coming from a background in the car dealership industry. Luke has been an integral part of Altaira since joining the team. Known for his leadership and problem-solving abilities, Luke has been instrumental in managing client requests, streamlining processes, and guiding his team to success. His input in IT and training projects has helped implement innovative solutions that enhance Altaira’s service delivery. In September 2024, he was promoted to Allocations Team Leader. What drew Luke to Altaira was its family-friendly culture and the feeling that he could make a real difference. Aged care has always been close to his heart, as it feels like he’s giving back, especially with his connection to many family members in the aging community.
Luke recently shared his insights with us:
How has your career developed since you started working at Altaira?
Since joining Altaira, I’ve worked on various project management roles, particularly in IT and training projects, helping implement new processes and software. My daily responsibilities include managing client requests, booking staff, and assisting with staff inquiries. As a team leader, I focus on problem-solving and ensuring the best outcomes for both clients and staff.
In addition to my role, I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Law. I hope to blend this with future positions at Altaira. Balancing work and study can be challenging, but time management and Altaira’s flexibility have allowed me to successfully continue my education while working.
Why did you choose to work at Altaira?
Altaira has played a significant role in my career growth. I value the family-friendly atmosphere and the sense of support that permeates the company. This supportive environment extends to everyone within the organisation, and it’s why I believe others should choose Altaira. The personalised, caring approach and the company’s commitment to both its staff and the wider community set it apart from other agencies.
What is your favourite aspect of working at Altaira?
For me, the people at Altaira are my favourite part of the job. I enjoy coming to work and building strong relationships with everyone, making the Altaira team feel like a second family. This coupled with the satisfaction of giving back to the ageing community makes working at Altaira a truly rewarding experience.
What are some of your personal hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I love being in nature, going on beach walks, and enjoying movies, TV shows, and documentaries.
